The Division
12 Community Group is a group of residents,
ratepayers & visitors concerned about preserving Division
12's traditional attributes:
- family oriented living
- an environmentally
friendly community
- coastal holiday destination
It is the largest such organisation on the
Gold Coast and seeks to liaise with other community groups
and clubs, the Chamber of Commerce, local traders and government
representatives.
Current discussion issues:
- Lack of responses from Councillors, Planning
Committee Chairman and Council Officers (example includes
Elements, Australand, etc) on application of Policy 18
- Community notification of applications
for relaxation by developers
- Voluntary voting for local Council elections
- A Gold Coast peak community alliance
- Councillors' qualifications
- Burleigh Lake
- Traffic light problems (coast wide)

The Division 12 Community Group was created when the boundaries
of Division 12 were changed in 2008. The Group grew out of
FOBA which was formed to provide pertinent information to
residents and ratepayers, to seek their input on relevant
issues and to represent them at appropriate meetings and committees.
